Questions
The things moms actually ask
I'm really not in shape enough for this
This is the thing we hear most, and the answer is the same every time: MomFit is the starting point, not something you work up to first. Every movement has an easier version, bodyweight is always a real option, and plenty of moms use the gentlest version for the whole six weeks — that is a completely successful six weeks. You cannot be too out of shape to start. That's the entire point of the program.
What if I can't do one of the movements?
Then you do a different one. Your coach will offer you an alternative before you have to ask for it, and if you'd rather swap something out halfway through a workout, you just do it — no explanation needed. Nothing in this class is compulsory.
Can I drop in and try a class?
Not a regular class, no — MomFit runs as a six-week group rather than as drop-in sessions. What we do run is one free class, on Saturday, September 26 at 10:30am, before the six weeks begin. That's the chance to try it and meet the other moms before you decide.
Do I have to bring my baby?
No. Plenty of moms come solo and train exactly as they would in any other class — and if you're craving forty-five minutes that are just yours, that's a great reason to. Bringing your baby is there so childcare isn't the thing that decides whether you get to train.
When is it safe to come back to working out?
Ask your doctor what they recommend for you specifically — the general guideline is around six weeks postpartum. We'll ask about medical clearance when you join, and if you don't have it yet, or you're being careful about something in particular, you'll simply start with the gentlest version of everything.
What if my baby is fussy, hungry, or needs changing?
That's the advantage of a room where everyone is in the same season. Blowouts happen, babies need feeding and holding, and nobody minds — we say so out loud on day one, because it's what everyone is quietly worrying about. Your baby stays beside you on a mat. Pause whenever you need to and pick up where you left off.
Do I need to be a Level Fitness member?
No. MomFit is standalone, with its own price, and it's open to anyone. You don't need a membership and you don't need to have done our Foundations course first.
What should I bring?
A water bottle, comfortable gym clothes and indoor shoes. If your baby's coming, bring whatever contains them — bucket seat, stroller, bouncer, playmat or pack-and-play. The gym has a few bouncers and sit-up seats to share.
What if I miss a class, or need to stop partway through?
Life happens and moms miss sessions. There aren't make-ups or drop-in credits, because the six weeks are built to progress in order. If you need to stop altogether, let us know a week ahead and your next scheduled payment won't be taken — payments already made aren't refunded, and if you paid in full there's no partial refund for stopping early. If we ever have to cancel a group before it starts, everyone is refunded in full.
